This event welcomes everyone from anywhere in Michigan,
including their friends and family members.
Those who plan to attend should email Gloria Taylor at detroitersla@yahoo.com . Include your name, metro Detroit school name (if applicable) and
the names of others who will be coming with you. Most people bring
their own food and cook at the park. Or some bring carry-out and eat it there.
There'll be dancing to the Motor City music, trivia, a sing-along and more.
There's a small concrete site where the grandkids and teenagers can dance,
hula-hoop and etc. Donations appreciated to help defray costs.
See you there!

well-preserved Vernor's sign on the side of a building
at south side of Joy Rd. west of Inkster.
It survived through the demolition of an abutting building.
The builidng has now been painted, and the top of the sign is gone, but the "DRINK Vernor's GINGER ALE" remains.

Summer In The City
Nothing like a drive-in movie on a summer night!
Maybe shopping on Woodward during Downtown Detroit Days
A trip with the family or your school to the Belle Isle Children's Zoo
Or, how about ice cream (one of the 28 flavors) from HoJo's?
Or an entire day at Bob-Lo!
Detroit Memories is a great website! I found it because I followed a Google link that spoke of a Dunkenburger's restaurant on 8 Mile and Kelly .
I'm trying to duplicate the color scheme of the restaurant from that time period. Do you have any color photos of Dunkenburger ? I don't need a high-rez photo, just the colors used. This is not for commercial purposes, just nostalgia.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
