DETROIT MEMORIES NEWSLETTER
DECEMBER 2009 CONTEST
CONTEST & WINNERS

WHO AM I?

I was born in 1916 in Witchita, Kansas.
At the age of four, I earned $50 a week as a kiddie comedian
on the Orpheum vaudeville circuit. I was a magician's assistant at
age 12 and even travelled the country as a boy evangelist.

I appeared on TV in Detroit from 1955 to 1964.
I carried my TV partner for nearly 10 years,
but he would probably tell you that he was the talented one.

Though diminiutive in stature, I was known for my
friendly grin and storytelling abilities.

ANSWER:  Ted Lloyd / Sagebrush Shorty
His sidekick was Skinny Dugan
