FOR THOSE WHO ENJOY SHARING THEIR
MEMORIES OF METRO DETROIT
IN THE 50s, 60s AND 70s
Since 2003, Detroit Memories has been -- and
always will be -- about a great city at a great time
in its history.
This is an "Open Group," meaning anyone can join;
however, it does NOT mean that anything goes.
Below are the Guidelines that apply to every
member. Please READ THEM to avoid potential
issues in the future.
If you feel you cannot abide by the Guidelines,
then please unsubscribe and find another group
that better meets your needs and expectations.

FACEBOOK GUIDELINES
==============================
1) THIS FACEBOOK PAGE IS MODERATED.
Each post will be checked for appropriateness.
Non-relevant posts will be removed without
explanation. If your posts disappears, reread
the Guidelines. The reason(s) will be for one or
more of the following:
2) POSTS SHOULD INCLUDE A REFERENCE
TO A METRO DETROIT PERSON, PLACE OR
THING FROM THE 50s, 60s AND/OR 70s ONLY.
No other decades, please. If you're in doubt about
something you want to post, look at other existing
posts as examples of content. Or, email and ask.
2A) NO GENERIC NOSTALGIA POSTS (such as clothes worn during those decades, hairstyles, non-Detroit TV shows watched, non-Detroit-based foods eaten, cities outside of the metro area, etc.)
If it was a "nationwide" trend, then it wasn't specific to metro Detroit and doesn't qualify for discussion.
3) TALK ABOUT DETROIT THE WAY IT WAS. The objective is to "stick to the past" with memories from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Posts should NOT include comments about the current condition of Detroit buildings or neighborhoods. However, what can be discussed is historic sites, landmarks or similar icons that existed in 50s/60s/70s and are now being refurbished or in danger of being demolished.
4) DON'T HIJACK (CHANGE THE SUBJECT OF) SOMEONE ELSE'S THREAD. STICK TO THE TOPIC. If you wish to talk about something else, start a new thread. Hijacked posts will be removed without explanation.
5) WRITE WITH EVERYONE IN MIND. For those times when you have a response or information that would not be of interest to other members (for example, about certain neighbors or teachers you had, etc.), please communicate with that person directly via MESSAGES.
6) NO SOLICITING. No product sales, mailing lists, promotions of other groups, etc.
8) HIJACKERS: If you continuously hijack posts, you either haven't read these Guidelines or you don't feel they pertain to you. Chronic hijackers will be warned three times, and unsubscribed after four.
9) COMPLAINERS: If you have issues with the way this Group is managed, simply unsubscribe. Do NOT post your disagreements in the Group. Those who do will be immediately and permanently unsubscribed.
10) DON'T RESPOND to topics or posts that don't meet the Guidelines!
